This is a personal website. I collect as little as possible, and analytics only run if you allow them.

Who is responsible
Alvaro Ariño Cabau, based in Val d'Aran, Spain, runs this website. For any privacy question or request, write to alvaro@alvaroarino.com.
What I collect
- Analytics: anonymous page views, referrers, approximate country and link clicks through Google Analytics 4 — only after you accept cookies.
- Contact form: the name, email address and message you send me, plus a temporary record of your IP address used to rate-limit spam.
- Server logs: standard request data kept briefly by the hosting provider for security and reliability.
Why I use it
- To answer your message — the only reason I read your contact details.
- To understand which articles and projects people read, so I write more of what is useful.
- To keep the site online and protected from automated abuse.
Legal basis
Analytics cookies run on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Contact messages are processed to answer your request and on my legitimate interest in keeping the site free of spam.
Who else sees the data
- Google (Google Analytics 4) — anonymous usage statistics, only with consent.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — spam protection on the contact form.
- The hosting and email providers that deliver this site and my replies.
How long it is kept
Analytics data follows Google's retention settings (14 months). Contact messages are kept while the conversation is useful and deleted on request. Your cookie choice stays on your device until you clear it.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing by writing to alvaro@alvaroarino.com. You may also complain to the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD).
Changes
